Yesterday was yet another good day, although it did not hold too many adventures. It was the first day that we were able to sleep in at all, and you can be sure I took advantage of it. As we got a late start on the day there was not much to be done before our play at 2:30. We say the play A Curious Dog in the Nighttime. It was really interesting. It was absolutely nothing which I would have expected. It was held in a theater which did not posses much ground space and so because of that, the theater was built to have many balconies. My seat was on the highest one and I was the first row after the ledge. It was a sheer drop down and it made me a little woozy to glance down at the stage at first.
The play was incredible! It had a lot of technology involved, many flashing and changing lights and sounds from every corner. It was very artistic, and many parts were completely unexpected. The walls of the stage were made of a chalkboard-like material and so the characters were able to write upon the walls and the floor. I really don't know how to describe it in order to do it justice but it really was incredible. I feel like I am really coming to be able to appreciate plays and musicals, so much more than I did before I came out here-probably for lack of trying but oh well.
After the play we had the plan to go and see Les Mis but the timing just didn't quite seem to work out and so we ended up going to go and get groceries for the next few days. From that time on we had a very low key night. Mainly consisting of reading King Lear, our next assignment and watching Downton Abbey. Did you know that over in the UK they have all 3 seasons on Netflix?! Best surprise ever.
This post wasn't all too interesting, and for that I am sorry! I'll try and take more pictures these next few days!
You better take more pics or I absolutely refuse to read your blog. You did make me LOL a few times though! Miss you, love you.
